Column: Ben shows Steelers way forward

That was single-handedly the best offensive performance I have ever seen the Steelers put on.

It gives me hope that now running games have been mostly minimized in the NFL, the Steelers can still compete because now THEY also have a dynamic passing attack.

The only way this day could be perfect is if they gave Cortez Allen his pink slip tomorrow morning. Obviously, I am sure from a financial/salary cap standpoint, that won't happen, but he need to ride the pine for, oh, the rest of the year minus an injury.

Great column, DK. I'm not all the way through, but noticed you had Ramon Roster instead of Foster. Ok, back to the column for me.

another good column - think brown had more than 47 yards though

"Forward" also means calling a risky pass play on 4th and 1. That's going for the win--straight to the jugular. That's doing what the Steelers want to do and damn anyone that tries to get in the way. Most importantly, that's not a sideways pass.

I think we may have seen the last of Justin Brown. Not a horrible player, but now there are much better options -- Moore, Wheaton, and now Bryant.
.
Dri Archer -- one play, one pass dropped. Steelers had 639 total yards, but he had none of them.
.
Great win!

I'm with you on passing downfield. Ben is too good at it, & has too many weapons not to spread the field. &, as you point out, it takes pressure off the running game by keeping so many guys out of the box. Kind of scary that they didn't figure it out sooner. We all knew it here.

O-line was huge, even with Marcus Gilbert out. Had more of "packed" look we saw in Carolina.
.
Tossing praise in Mike Adams' direction. Played well for last game and a half. Hope it's a start.

Offensive line was also exceptional. Just outstanding.

I said it earlier, but why not reiterate it? That was the best QB performance I've ever witnessed, & it was surely in the NFL's Top 10 all-time no matter who is judging. He has 2/3 Super Bowls, 100 wins in 150 games & 2 500+ yd games. #HOF.

First time in several games we didn't hear Wing's named mentioned in some disparaging way. Is Nick Willams playing olb? If not he should be he was around the ball all night. Let ben be ben and we set records. Did snoop smoke out w/haley or what?

Hope your bank account is swelling because that article was pure honey, as usual. Almost a stress free game from a fans perspective and get this Dejan, i couldn't complain about haley, it felt........so..........foreign.. Keep up delivering money shots buddy! Stay blessed!!

Yea baby!

That game was awesome for so many reasons, not least of which is that it gave the rest of the nation a chance to realize how amazing Ben is at quarterback. He's always left out of the national conversation for elite QB, and tonight will hopefully start to set that right!

DK, Time to give Tomlin his due. He is a great coach probably headed for the HOF, obviously!!

Too funny of an article... Obviously!!! lol
Just love Tomlinism's.
Nothing on the pooch punt? Why not go for it on 4th. Did Tomlin ask Chryst for advice?

With the way the NFL is now, you have to throw downfield if for nothing else 9/10 times you are going to get a flag. Steelers finally took advantage and it was a great game. Let's make it 3 Ina. Row

You've got it exactly backwards: execution dictates play-calling, not other way around. Proof in the pudding. Today & 2nd half last Monday, O-line allowed zero sacks. Voilà! Over first 6.5 games, were on pace for 49 sacks. That, not imaginary light bulb coming on, is explanation.

I see a lot of negative replies here. I'm stoked! Defense created turnovers and offense put the biscuit in the basket. Are we not tied at the top of the Central

Anyone know if Troy has a pass deflection yet?
