Racerxkid – I have to assume you are a juvenile as I have made my point that the article is all personal speculation and not based upon facts from anyone. Take any journalism class you would find that to prove an idea, it must be supported with facts of some kind and referenced. As I illustrated, the whole article is general opinion with no reference to any of the ideas listed as making KC a good dude. Racerxkid learn more about journalism before idiotic remarks.

Lol. Good luck with all that. You just spend 20 mins of your time writing an article that makes zero sense (of the little I read), while trying to disprove an article that makes complete sense. Can't fix stupid. There's a reason no one else shares your opinions. My time here is done. You keep crying about KC, I'll continue to watch him put competitive teams together year after year.

What makes Kevin Colbert a ‘Good Dude” according to Josh Yohe (and in answer to subscribers such as “racerxkid” who thinks the article speaks for itself as it does not):

1)	“The man has worked for the Steelers for 15 years and you never heard a bad word uttered about him. Not one time.” Very ambiguous statement and a ‘bad word” coming from who, players, management or personnel? We are supposed to believe this tidbit on face value?

2)	“ I’ll be honest: I’ve had very, very limited dialogue with Colbert over the years….But I see him frequently and have always been impressed, his polite public demeanor displaying not a hint of phoniness.” So, he has a polite public demeanor, but only haven spoken to Kevin Colbert on a limited basis over the years, it is not exactly what one could call proof?

3)	Colbert stood in line at a drinking fountain at one game and acknowledged the knowing of Josh Yohe as a sports writer for “Daily News” in McKeesport. The fact that Kevin Colbert would know the entire local newspapers sports columnist is not surprising being it is their jobs to write about Kevin Colbert and his job. Courtesy from him is not being a surprise as much as it would be a failure not to acknowledge one’s possible critics.

4)	“As the years would pass, I’d see Colbert frequently. He’s the man who runs the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he’s a mighty big Penguins fan, you may have heard. He’s never been a stranger to Penguins games over the years. In fact, he’s something of an addict. On occasion, I’d see him outside of the locker room or wandering through the arena. No special suite seats were necessary for him. He never asked to meet players or to be treated differently than anyone else.” How would Josh Yohe know this? Where did he get this information and how does he know that this is true than Kevin Colbert has never asked to meet any of the players? Nothing to substantiate that statement, but the reader is forced to accept this premise as a fact and not speculation.

5)	“When fans would approach him to chat, he would chat back. And really, could there be anything more annoying than being the general manager of the Steelers and having people suggest what you should do in an upcoming draft? I can’t even imagine. But this guy just handles it in stride and does so with a smile on his face. He doesn’t seek fame and doesn’t treat anyone with disrespect.” Again, another assumption from the writer and this information does nothing to pursue the argument that Kevin Colbert is a Good Dude.

6)	“Bill Cowher and Mike Tomlin are both extraordinarily successful men. Both have big egos, too. They probably couldn’t have achieved all of their success without the quiet guy who was always happy to let them have the spotlight. It’s just his way. And his way represents the Steelers Way so very well. Kevin Colbert is a very, very good dude.” Wow, where to even begin with such a statement. The last Director of Operations that spoke out against the then coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers (Bill Cowher) lost his job, so I hardly think it would have been job security to speak against the then coach that got your predecessor fired. But somehow, somewhere in all of this is the reason why he is a Good Dude. Sorry that I did not find it in this article as it falls short of showing me a Good Dude in Kevin Colbert.

"I get the idea of Good Dudes"..
I really don't think you do man. There was an entire article just written about what qualifies KC as a good dude. And nothing in that article was questionable whatsoever. Soooooo I'm utterly confused as to what you're missing here

Good one, Josh. Don't always agree with every move he makes (while mindful of the obvious "what the hell do I know?" factor). But, I always get the impression that he's a good dude. Thanks for confirming. I like the soda line story.

Further you get from the Colbert/Cowher era, the lower the overall talent of this team has become by making some players starters that did not earn the right to start, but do because they are high draft picks and the Steelers have no one else to fill in. He may very well be a nice/good guy, but I totally question his ability to do his job by judging talent without some significant help. It appears that his better days are behind him as far as the GM of the Steelers.

I'm starting to wonder how many of these go by without starting to wonder who I thought was a good dude but maybe isn't because they aren't on this list. :)

Specifically, the best player on the one team currently playing real games. I always thought he was a good dude, and thought he'd be one of the first people on this feature.
