Did Mario’s Big Payday ™ take a hit today when the NHL only received two bids, including a fat zero from coveted Seattle? This is from someone who thinks Seattle would make a tremendous addition to the NHL footprint.

What makes you think the Cardinals will cruise? Their offense is not a juggernaut and who knows if their pitching will be as dominant in the second half?

Why would the d-backs trade Goldschmidt? That would be like the Bucs trading Cutch. Something like Marte, Glasnow and Bell might do it. But neither the Bucs nor the D-Backs will make that trade.

Just where do you hide this extra pitcher in case of an injury? In the bullpen? That doesn’t always work out so well, do you DFA either Worley, Locke, Morton? Wait… If there would be an injury we would still be short on depth if there was another injury. Does Cole of any options left? maybe we can send him to Indy in case someone gets hurt.

People the last thing this team should do is pay an exorbitant premium in terms of talent for an over priced starting pitcher at the deadline there is no where on the roster for them without cutting someone else a reasonably priced bullpen arm maybe, a starter not a chance. We still have Liz getting stretched out and doing well in Indy.

Schedule is against us, and I feel it’s going to be difficult for this staff of pitchers to have as good a second half as they did in the first half…which means hitters have to pick it up. I look for pirates to struggle a bit, but eventually get a wild card spot.and not by much. Cards will cruise
